"I'm very excited to announce that not only did I break my personal record, I broke the American Women's record. I also won the overall World Cup Globe for the 5th consecutive season. I am the 2007 FIS World Cup champion.

The overall FIS World Cup is based on a points system. The woman with the most points at the end of the season wins the FIS World Cup Crystal Globe, the most sought after trophy in Alpine skiing. I am extremely happy with my performance this year, but there is always room for improvement. In the next few years, I hope to attempt to break the women's world record, which is currently held by Sanna Tidstrand from Sweden, with a speed of 242.55 km/h, or 150.70 mph." - Tracie

First Race

Intrigued by this, Tracie contacted Naga Kusumi and arranged to go to the National Championships in Snowmass, Colorado. After searching the Web to acquire equipment for the race, Tracie came up with nothing. She had a ticket to Colorado, but no equipment. The day before she left, Naga agreed to lend her a pair of skis. When Tracie arrived, she contacted Amy Guras, former Olympic team member. Amy agreed to lend Tracie a rubber suit for the race and sold her a helmet made by Dale Womack for $50. Dale was also a former Olympic team member. By the day of the race, Tracie was ready to go.
